In 2022 Bere Island Projects Group launched their online community archive with the Irish Community Archive (iCAN) as a means to digitise all island heritage collections. To date the island graveyard has been digitised and is now available online, along with oral history recordings, old photographs and documents. We are asking people so help us to continue to add to our online archive by bringing along to the Heritage Centre photos and documents relating to Bere Island to be scanned and digitised for our archive (we will also provide you with a digital copy for your own reference), along with stories of island life, details of local place names and field names, words and phrases in the Irish language unique to Bere Island and we will add these to our online archive.
