To celebrate Heritage Week 2024, and in recognition of Community Heritage Funding received to survey the library at St Flannan's Cathedral, a guided tour of the ground floor of St Flannan's Cathedral Killaloe will take place, free of charge, on Saturday August 24th at 6pm. This cathedral is unique in that its footprint has remained largely unaltered since its construction in the early 13th century. It is still a place of worship as it was 800 years ago and an architectural treasure in the Lough Derg Region. Come along and hear about its history, its artefacts and the stories of some of the interesting families associated with the building.
