In the heart of the former village of Passy, the Maison de Balzac is the only one of the novelist's Parisian homes that remains today. It was in this pavilion on the hillside of Passy that Balzac wrote 'La Comédie humaine'. The museum displays, among other things, personal memorabilia of the writer and his family, as well as numerous first editions, manuscripts and illustrations. Paintings, engravings and documents relating to his family and contemporaries are also on display. The museum organizes exhibitions and events on themes relating to the writer.
