The tower of Termes, located between Plaisance and Riscle, overlooks the rich valley of the Adour and its tributary the Arros, the country of the low river, the last lines of the hills of Armagnac and Vic-Bilh, facing the Pyrenees. Classified as a historical monument, it is the only remnant of the ancient medieval Gascon palace built in the «Termes» of the county of Armagnac at the end of the thirteenth century. Today only the 36 m high master tower remains. The association the medieval and popular Academy of Termes and the Town Hall work since 1985 to make live the site, thanks to the development of the museum located in the tower and its actions (shows, cultural animations...) Since 2020, a major project has been created with the installation of a museum dedicated to the medieval life of the thirteenth century and the facilities intended to enrich the cultural programming (village of artisans, stadium of joust...)
