Aperçu

Located in 35 km in Strasbourg, in the area around the medieval surrounding wall(speaker) of the small city of Boersch and at the foot of the Mount Saint - Odile, this garden deprived of a hectare, labelled remarkable Garden, joins a rich historic and environmental context. It is in the XIXth century when it was done up in garden of enjoyment(approval). His current owners attempt to restore him by emphasising his(her, its) shady enclosures, his(her, its) bright orchard, his(her, its) stream cascadant... They conceive(design) its visit as an introduction in spirit of the place, in art and in philosophy of gardens, but also as a meeting: a walk enriched by moments of reading and of exchanges. During national events(demonstrations) (Party(Holiday) of Nature, Meeting(Appointment) in gardens, European Heritage Days), stage designs, exhibitions(exposures) and musical programmes are assured(insured) by the artists and voluntary members of the association The Earth is blue. The wandering among the rooms(chambers) of trellises and the squares of boxwood allows to redraw the history(story) of the place while tackling(approaching) the symbolism of the closed gardens: medieval sacred and secular gardens and Renaissance (Paradiesgärtlein de la Vierge, gardens of courtly love); paradise (places of fullness), mazes (places of tests(events) and of introduction), caves (places of introversion and of revival). Walk continues in paths - prospects(perspectives) of the orchard, wide open on landscape; having led(driven) belvedere to a gazebo where from there is a romantic view(sight) on garden and surroundings, before crossing an undergrowth leading to a descent in the stave(moat). Then, the ascent(rise) of the watercourse following the wall plunges the visitors in historic past and natural environment who disorient them. The route(course) ends with the discovery of the nymphée recently done up to receive a moulding of the gracious «Woman in the well» or " white Lady " whom the artist of Béarn Ernest Gabard sculpted in 1913, to adorn a fountain of the city of Pau, and whose model was the grandmother of the hostess of the garden.
