Radicale 1924 is an innovative arts project in Saint Cirq Lapopie, dedicated to the production of new works by international artists, encouraging collaboration and experimentation. Radicale 1924 was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of the First Surrealist Manifesto by André Breton. Radicale 1924 inaugurated in October 2021. The project has four lines of work: residency, public events, publications and editions. Each year and according to different formats and themes, a group of selected artists will be invited for a month-long residency in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. During this time, they will create new projects to be presented at a week-long summer event. The four-year cycle will conclude with a grand celebration of the first surrealist manifesto, which will feature a special program of events and live interventions by previous and newly invited artists that will make Saint-Cirq-Lapopie a center for artistic creativity and public imagination. Radicale 1924 is supported by the Municipality of Saint Cirq Lapopie. For the European Heritage Days, we share some of the works the artists in redisant have been developing during their stay. The presentation takes place in the Nighsthop, Maison Routier, near the Porte de Rocamadour of the village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. Radicale 1924 works close together with La Maison André Breton in Saint Cirq Lapopie, Le Musée René Magritte Bruxelles-Jette and University of California, Department of visual arts San Diego , USA Radicale 1924 is an artistic project carried by the association RADICAL LOW Radical Low's ambition is to contribute to the cultural life of Saint Cirq Lapopie by making the village a center for contemporary art. Our association sets up a network of cultural actors, public and private entities to situate Saint Cirq Lapopie as a pole of artistic and economic attraction.
