The visit to the farm of Villarivon, once devoted to agricultural activity, is of double historical and heritage interest. In its composite building of agropastoral vocation cleverly disguised as a mansion, the building illustrates in the first place the tremendous economic and social success of a family of "mountain entrepreneurs" from the 17th to the 19th century, in the institutional framework of the former States of Savoy suddenly dissolved, in 1860-1861, to the corrosive acid of the Risorgimento and the Italian Unity. In terms of heritage, however, and despite the final remodelling of its patrician-inspired exterior decoration in 1880, the farm still retains its hybrid building logic, both agro-pastoral and “residential”, all the characteristic functions of a «cow factory» inseparable, in the high valleys of the Northern Alps, from the boom of a flourishing Gruyère economy initiated at the beginning of Modern Times. A l'attention des visiteurs : le parking étant extrêmement difficile en toute saison dans Villarivon, les visiteurs sont instamment priés de garer leur véhicule sur l'aire de stationnement et de manœuvre des cars scolaires située à l'aval du hameau en bordure de la Route de Bellentre, au niveau du panneau indicateur d'entrée dans la localité, avant de rejoindre l'intérieur du village à pied.
