Aperçu

Former southern gate of the fortifications, the primitive tower dating from 1432 still existed in 1630\\. It was destroyed due to age and replaced by a new building built by the Rosiéroise company of Claude Salmon around 1720. Several stories exist about the origin of the nickname "banban". Originally, it was at the foot of the banban that the Provost Marshal, who was a judge, delivered justice. To help him, he summoned the ban and the backbench, groups composed of citizens of Rosières. The belfry was listed as a historic monument in 1926.
