Visit of a 19th century forge house and its park
It is a typical 19th century master forge house, built from a small 18th century castle whose structure is still legible, especially in the large living room. Home of the Ferry-Capitain family in the 19th and 20th centuries, whose foundry makes it one of the most important in eastern France concerning the history of iron, it displays all the decorations typical of eclectic architecture, while retaining the classic sobriety of the original construction. Nestled in the heart of a romantic park still present, it is representative of the art of living of a bourgeois family in the epic Haut-Marnaise of the melting of art in the nineteenth century. Selected as the emblematic site of the Grand Est by the Stéphane Bern Mission 2021, it begins a restoration that will last several years.
