Un viaje a Eslovenia para realizar un Erasmus fue el motivo de una investigación sobre el patrimonio local, sorprendidos por todo lo que había que contar sobre esta pequeña villa de Sahagún, centro del Camino de Santiago francés, nuestros alumnos y alumnas han revisitado estos lugares.

Animados por la oportunidad de este concurso le han dado la vuelta a la información más destacada para mostrar cual es su patrimonio europeo. Con una visión informal y didáctica se han querido reseñar los lugares y hechos históricos más emblemáticos relacionados con Sahagún:

-Su monasterio benedictino, motivo por el cual esta localidad es candidata a formar parte de los sitios cluniacenses Patrimonio de la Humanidad.

-La importancia de la arquitectura mudéjar o arquitectura del ladrillo.

-La primera escuela de juglares en 1116.

-El lugar de descanso de Alfonso VI y la relevancia de sus esposas e hija, Doña Urraca-

-La presencia de la primera escultora registrada de la historia de España, con una de sus mejores obras presente en el santuario de la Peregrina.

-El valor de Sahagún como centro del Camino de Santiago francés.

Este es nuestro patrimonio europeo.

A trip to Slovenia to do an Erasmus was the reason for research on the local heritage, surprised by everything that had to be said about this small village of Sahagún, center of the French Camino de Santiago, our students have revisited these places.

Encouraged by the opportunity of this contest, they have turned the most outstanding information on its head to show what its European heritage is. With an informal and didactic vision, we wanted to review the most emblematic places and historical events related to Sahagún:

-Its Benedictine monastery, which is why this town is a candidate to be part of the Cluniac World Heritage sites.

-The importance of Mudejar architecture or brick architecture.

-The first school of minstrels in 1116.

-The resting place of Alfonso VI and the relevance of his wives and daughter, Doña Urraca.

-The presence of the first woman sculptor in the history of Spain, with one of her best works present in the sanctuary of the Pilgrim.

-The value of Sahagún as a center of the French Camino de Santiago.
