The French Cartridge factory was created in 1903, in the dependences(outbuildings) of a very modest disused farm the tiny buildings of which in the centre of the imposing current factory are still seen. About ten workers and workers, a foreman and a director established(constituted) then all of the staff whose most difficult task was to interest in a small number of ammunitions of undisputed quality, but offering that a restrained choice(selection), a clientele many but copiously provided in articles of every sort and kind, from established and known suppliers for a long time. During century therefore the history(story) of the Cartridge factory and that of the village were confidentially bound(connected). If in its urban structure, Survilliers keeps(guards) the memory of the factory in an obvious way, there is on human plan and very subtly persistence of a relation of common(shared) real-life experience which still explains certain collective behaviours and certain «local patriotism», that to have in most old(former) Survilliers and the most important industrial company of the department.
