There will be a free Heritage Talk in the Old Church, Straid on Saturday 23rd August 2025, at 12.00 – 1.30 pm. The talk will cover a range of subjects including a short history of Straid, the Old Church, local events in the past such as extreme weather events, local connections to the British Royal Family, some folklore and legends, and a few more interesting bits and pieces. Meeting in the Urris GAA car park at 11.45 am. There will be another Walk & Talk in Clonmany Village afterwards, provided by Clonmany Walking Tours (€7).
