Nick Coy is one of the most engaging historians of the mines at Avoca. He has collected and will transmit oral stories on numerous aspects of the Avoca Mine heritage, gathered over 50 years of interest in this mine site. Maria Cullen and Howard Fox have published on the lichens of the mine site at Avoca, in context of Glendasan and Glendalough in Biology and Environment several decades ago. Tuesday's excursion will highlight the botany, geology and mining heriage of Avoca
