14 September 2025 (12:00 - 16:00) The Corner is a multipurpose community event space in the heart of Darvel. It replaced the derelict and dangerous former cooperative building which was demolished in 2019. The Corner development was completed in 2023 after a hiatus caused by Covid. It has quickly become established as a hugely successful community asset with a wide range of organised activities including monthly markets. There will be members of DART in attendance and there will be short talks on Darvel’s Lace Industry (now sadly no more) and Sir Alexander Fleming. There is a ramp linking the two levels in The Corner and both levels can also be accessed directly from the adjacent pavements.
