Rocks of Angus at the Meffan Museum
13 September 2025 (11:00 - 15:00) 14 September 2025 (11:00 - 15:00) The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery was funded by Miss Jane Meffan, in memory of her father the former Provost, and opened in 1898. The museum displays include an impressive collection of Pictish Stones, the shocking story of the Forfar witch trials and a recreation of the historic Vennel cobbled street. The museum’s art gallery spaces showcase the work of local, national, and internationally renowned artists. This year for Doors Open Day we are delighted to be partnering with the Scottish Geology Festival and their team of volunteers on a very special event at the Meffan Museum. Join our celebration of the geology of Angus with hands on activities for geologists of all ages and rock themed fun for children and families. We will also have some rarely seen highlights of our own collection on display. Suitable for all ages. Booking is not required. Please email meffanmuseum@angusalive.scot with any specific accessibility queries.
