6 September 2025 (10:00 - 13:00) 6 September 2025 (14:00 - 17:00) The Lillie Art Gallery is a purpose-built gallery opened in 1962. It owes its existence to local banker and artist Robert Lillie (1867-1949), who left a substantial number of his own artworks as well as funds to build the gallery. Since 1962, this founding bequest of artworks has been developed to form a collection of Scottish art dating from the 1880s to the present day. Around 450 works are contained in the collection, which includes paintings, prints, drawings and a small collection of sculpture and ceramics. For Doors Open Days enjoy a peek behind the scenes in the store of the Lillie Art Gallery. Tours are at 2.15pm and 3.15pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. The Lillie Art Gallery will also be open from 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm on Saturday 6 September. Exhibitions on display will include Michael Durning, and Jessie M King.
