Open House and 40th anniversary of the 6th Materiel Regiment On the occasion of the European Heritage Days and to celebrate a symbolic anniversary, the 6th Regiment du Matériel invites you to discover the universe of its maintenance soldiers and their history during an exceptional weekend on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the creation of the regiment, an important milestone in the life of this military unit based in Besançon. With decades of commitment to the nation, both in France and abroad, the regiment embodies both military memory, national cohesion, and permanent adaptation to contemporary issues. A unique immersion in the life of a regiment During these two days, visitors will have the opportunity to cross the gates of the military quarter and: • Learn about the regiment’s history, past and present missions, overseas deployments, and role in national defence; • Attend dynamic demonstrations of military know-how: intervention techniques, presentation of equipment, sports course, etc. • Explore a historical exhibition that traces the 40 years of the regiment, with archives, testimonies, equipment and uniforms; • Interact with serving members, who will share their daily lives, commitments and careers; • Participate in fun and educational workshops, especially for the youngest.
