Brickworks of the 19th and 20th centuries. Jules-César Gohaud, a master plasterer, exploited the clay vein of the land. Discover its history, the argilières and the collections of solid and hollow bricks, tiles, tiles and pottery made between 1860 and 1957. It houses a wooden framework, carved sandstones, and a wooden statue. Lost at the bottom of the valley, below, is a fountain. It was erected in 1524 by the rector of Saint-Avé, in homage to Saint-Michel. To see, the sculptures around the doors of the south and east: mermaid, human bust, saints... From the old church, the wings of the transept remain, some sections of walls, structural elements, and three Gothic windows which are its most beautiful ornament. In the nave, the door in basket handle that opens onto the old baptistery is adorned with vigorous moldings. It certainly belongs to the old building. Discover the old mansion remodeled by the Baroness of Espée at the beginning of the 20th century, become a retirement home since 1949. Photographs, period objects, testimonies and archival documents will allow visitors to dive into the daily life of this factory. This exhibition was led by former employees, the association Histoire Locale de Saint-Avé and students of the IUT de Vannes. The exhibition thus constitutes a bridge between working memory and transmission to the younger generations.
