Guided tour of the Saint-Christophe church in Champlitte
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Saint-Christophe de Champlitte church opens its doors for guided tours. Discover this collegiate church founded in 1437: you will discover its architecture, its rich furniture from the 14th to the 19th century, and the stories that have shaped its identity over time. Under the bell tower, the visit to the Saint-Christophe chapel will also highlight two major works created in 1947 by two artists laureates of the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome: the mural The Martyrdom of Saint Christopher, painted by Alfred Giess, and the wooden statue of Saint Christopher, carved by Félix Joffre. Attention, do not confuse with the church of Saint-Christophe in Champlitte-la-Ville, 1.5 km from Champlitte. Informations Free entry
