Electron microscopy: a story and a whole network!
INRAE invites you to (re)discover its electron microscopes with the exciting Brigitte Gaillard Martinie. This research engineer set up the microscopy technical platform in 1983, which has improved scientific knowledge in many fields. And as science is never done alone, Brigitte Martinie created the Groupement des Microscopistes Clermontois (GMC), the INRAE microscopist network and she coordinated the electron microscopy imaging network of the CNRS for several years. A whole network, for scientific connections without borders! Come and get to know our electron microscopes: the transmission electron microscope (TEM) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with a cryogenic unit, a first in France in the 80s! Since 2020, these electron microscopes have been listed as historical monuments and contemporary scientific and technical heritage (PATSTEC). Informations FREE on online registration via eventbrite mandatory because the capacity of each visit slot is limited to 10 people. 4 slots are offered on Sunday, September 21: 14h / 15h / 16h / 17h. The event is accessible from 12 years old. Book
