Moygara Castle is one of the best surviving examples of a Gaelic Castle that survives. In 2025, Moygara Castle is entering its fifth season of Conservation works as part of the Community Monuments Fund. This grant aid has been transformational in securing the future of Monuments such as Moygara Castle which are in private ownership. Due to the site being closed to the public for the duration of the Conservation works, Heritage week is an excellent opportunity to come and vist the Castle and see the Castle up close and understand the conservation process that has taken place Booking is essential through the email address moygaracastlesecretary@gmail.com The venue & carpark will be open from 5.30pm to 8.30pm Due to ground conditions, this is a weather dependant field trip. If the weather is not suitable, all bookings will be informed by email before 12 noon on the day of the event. PLEASE wear appropriate footware. Field parking will be provided.
