Thurles Farmers Market will feature activities on Saturday August 17th and Saturday August 24th to Mark Heritage Week 2024 Our usual market on Saturday August 17th from 9am to 12.30pm will also include a look back at food production in Thurles - the Sugar Factory and livestock exports - the railway was involved in both. On August 17th we will also have some live farm animals, live music, vintage vehicles and a raffle in aid of Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre Thurles(for Saturday August 17th, 24th and 31st). On Saturday August 24th Aoife Barrett will join us for an event aimed at Children but also open to anyone interested in printing items(cards, towels, bags) with messages about food - this segment is titled - The Crop, The Shop, The Table. Aoife works regularly with children in a Community Garden project locally.
