The Republic in Versailles

On the occasion of the 42nd edition of the European Heritage Days, the Palace of Versailles celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Third Republic. Discover the Congress hall, built in 1875 for the deputies and the Senate, the Seal room as well as the apartments of the President of the Congress! A sound experience in the Congress hall will allow you to travel back in time during speeches by great personalities from the history of the Republic. To echo the temporary post office set up during Congress meetings in the Gallery of Battles, you will be invited to write a postcard to isolated elderly people in partnership with theassociation 1 Letter, 1 Smile. Throughout your journey, students from the Ecole du Louvre can help you discover the history of the Third Republic through mediations.
