In one hundred years, in 2125, in the month of September as every year, it is we - visitors, professionals, users of the health establishments on the hill of Bligny today - who will be "The people of Bligny of yore". Our distant successors will come to observe us - half-serious, half-goguenards, curious in any case - on the occasion of an exhibition that will be dedicated to us, as our world of the 21st century will seem archaic, distant, risible in some aspects, sad or joyful in others; relatively incomprehensible, and it is we who will be the witnesses of a vanished world! Our outdated way of life, our clothes and technology from another time, our lost mode of thought, our ideas and our science obsolete, the unimaginable geopolitical upheavals that would separate them from us; our concerns perhaps laughable, the pleasures of our time, our everyday stories totally detached from what the world will be in a hundred years. We have no idea what the society will be like in a hundred years, but we can look at the lives of the people of Bligny from a century ago, through the collection of Louis-Lumière plaques from the presidency of the Association of the Hospital Center of Bligny, entrusted since 2023 to the care and long-term archiving of the Paris Academy of Medicine. But who were these people? What were they living? What were they doing there, whether they were patients (they were said to be boarders), doctors, gardeners, workers, office employees or simple visitors? These two exhibitions - the one in the open air, created by the photographer and writer Patrick Bard with strong poetic added value; and the one indoors -updated and presented through an immersive journey- in the theater, give us objective tracks of discovery, entry into the intimacy of the people of Bligny from the very beginning of the 20th century. They represent a major tool for understanding the life of our distant predecessors. A journey through time, an unexpected mental time capsule where you will be guided through a world that has disappeared and is difficult to apprehend from here.
