Art in the churches

A meeting between liturgical art and contemporary art in the churches of Targon, Haut-Langoiran and Cadillac.

This event unveils its first edition this year: the opportunity to know what is hidden in your sacristy! Our desire is to share the experience of the sacred in order to allow visitors a time for introspection, pause or discovery. In 2025, focus on paramentery: chasubles, stoles, chapes. The audiovisual work of Alice Viry will reveal its secrets. The contemporary art exhibition highlights the elements of nature: the plant in Cadillac with Anne-Geneviève Dutertre, textile artist, the mineral in Langoiran with Alix Divers, stained glass artist, and finally the animal in Targon with brother François, engraver. Come discover how these works reveal the beauty of creation within your church, the heritage of your commune!

Church of Targon

Brother François Through his etchings, Brother François recounts the creation of the universe in an abundance of colors of great richness. With his canvases, he tells the story of a world that detaches itself from limbo and is peopled by exuberant animals.
