ARCHAEOLOGY OF A POPULAR AND SENSITIVE HISTORY OF 108 – MAISON BOURGOGNE Le 108, located within the Maison Bourgogne, places its activities in an old building from the end of the 18th century, around 5,000 m 2. For a long time chocolate factory, confectionery, distillery of the Saintoin family, then training center for apprentices, the building then became the Maison Bourgogne then the 108 as we know it today. Since September 2024, the 108 team has embarked on a work of collecting memories. Around a work of collecting stories, anecdotes, testimonies, images, archives, objects... with the municipal archives, the inhabitants, the workers and users of the 108 we retraced the history of the place in which we find ourselves. Understanding one’s heritage, identifying the traces still visible in the place in order to understand its history and be able to transmit it. All this research work led us to imagine an exhibition around the emblematic figure that is 108. Retrace its history, understand this urban common that we share, and share the results of this research to make them visible and pass on to everyone on the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2025, next Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September. So don’t hesitate to come and walk the corridors of 108, to come and listen to the testimonies gathered, to discover the archives dating from the chocolate factory, the photos of the training center for apprentices, through time and eras retracing the history of this incredible place housed in the heart of the Burgundy district! And even better, if you have been part of the history of 108 or have crossed it at one time or another, do not hesitate to come and tell us your memories and to share your anecdotes and your memory!
