Activity recognition and interpretation of the town’s urban landscape through the visual archive of 'Ramiro Fotógrafo'

Aperçu

The visual archive of Ramiro Fotógrafo (Ramiro Climent), safeguarded by the Muro Town Council for the past two years, is a valuable documentary collection containing more than 400,000 images spanning from the 1950s to practically the present day. This extensive photographic legacy offers a journey through the evolution of the town over more than half a century.

The proposed activity is designed as an exercise in citizen participation, in which attendees will have the opportunity to explore a selection of around fifty photographs from this archive. Through these images, participants are invited to reflect on the lost heritage of Muro’s traditional historic centre.

Thanks to the memories, knowledge, and contributions of the participating residents, it will be possible to identify disappeared buildings, reconstruct the cultural value of spaces that have since changed, and recover the memory of the urban fabric that once shaped daily life in the town.

Ultimately, it is an opportunity to look into the past with shared insight and collectively rebuild the everyday history of Muro.

The session will take place on Tuesday, November 25th, at 10:30 a.m., in the L’Arpella room of the Municipal Archive.
