This workshop marks the official launch of La Encina’s Community Virtual Railway Heritage Museum, an initiative that brings neighbours, former railway workers and families together to preserve and share the rich local memory of the station and its surroundings. The activity takes place within the framework of European Heritage Stories-awarded project The Echo of Steam.

First part
The session will begin with a theoretical part, introducing the foundations of community-driven virtual museums, illustrated with models and success stories. This will be followed by a reflection on railway heritage as a source of identity and collective memory in La Encina, and a round-table discussion where attendees can share ideas, questions and perspectives
12:00 - 13:45
Second part
After a short break, the second part will be practical, focused on getting to work. Participants will take the first steps in building the virtual museum together, organising tasks, defining initial contributions and outlining the project’s next actions. The session will close with a brief summary and final remarks.
