A Pot of Films Festival
Celebrating the world of Irish filmmaking in Ennistymon! After the buzz of 2023's screening of local short films, A Pot of Films is back and sees us expand into a full on Film Festival! Saturday 24 August Daytime Workshops: 1. DIY Filmmaking for Young People (11 - 18 year olds). Make a 60 second short film to be screened during the evening screening sessions. Facilitator: Jo Barker, Black Bark Films 2. Acting from a Director's Lens (18 +) Facilitators: Actor Jacinta Sheerin and Filmmaker Maeve Stone, Cracking Light Productions 3. Developing and Pitching Your Story (18 +) Facilitators: Producer Aisling Magill and Script Editor Development Executive Norma Howard Evening Screenings at The Courthouse Gallery Selected short films screened from 5pm - 7pm - 'The Waiting is Over', Dermott Petty - 'Black Forest', Val O'Connor - 'Mná an Chláir', Ger Ryan, Teresa Carmody O'Shea, Alan Killoran - 'A Woman of Aran', Thomas O'Donoghue - 'The Talk', Jonathan Huges - 'Yellow Belt', Allyn Quigley - 'A Duckumentary', Kyra Owens - 'The Building and Burning of a Refugee Camp', Dennis Harvey - 'Melted Away', Nina Achtelik - 'Fleeting', Louisa Connolly-Burnham, Lisa O'Connor - 'Being Put Back Together', David McDonagh Selected feature film screened from 7:30pm - 10pm - Feature documentary 'North Circular' by Luke McManus followed by a Director's Q&A Saturday 25 August Sleepy Sunday Screening at The Salmon Bookshop from 2pm - 4pm - 'A Song of Granite' by acclaimed filmmaker Pat Collins, celebrating the life of legendary seannós singer, Joe Heaney.
