A group of young artists of the Children's Art School united to create a triptych "The family of a reindeer herder from the village of Kazim". We live in the Far North of Russia, in Western Siberia. There is a unique natural area, a lot of minerals - oil, gas. But another great value - people, indigenous peoples who have lived here since ancient times. These are the Khanty people. They are engaged in fishing, hunting, breeding deer, collecting natural fruits - berries, cones. They have developed several crafts - processing of fur, furs, sewing clothes and shoes from animal skins. She makes household items from wood, birch bark, decorate these objects with carved patterns. People from national villages are special. They are not afraid of frost, mudslide. They are well oriented in the taiga, live for a long time among the forest, on the ancestral lands. People from national villages are special. They are not afraid of frost, mudslide. They are well oriented in the taiga, live for a long time among the forest, on the ancestral lands. There the Khanty make stocks for the winter - they wither meat and fish, harvest furs, nuts, berries.
We decided to unite and do a collective work about this strong people. In modern life, there are not many of them left. Some of them now live in the city, in warm apartments, with all the amenities. But there are those who love silence, space, freedom. That's about such people our drawing.
We went to the national village of Kazym. There is an open-air museum there. It has buildings, household items, weapons, traditional costume, everything that surrounded the Khanty people in the past. It was interesting to get acquainted and see the real boats, axes, arrows, tuesa and much that is not used in modern life. We met the family of hereditary reindeer herder Artem Grishkin. His children went to live in the city. And he stayed in the village. He loves fishing, hunting, but his main thing is to breed deer. He has a ancestral pasture. His father, grandfather, great-grandfather raised deer there and he did not leave this land.
We painted a portrait of his family. The head of the family is drawn with a simple pencil, this artist Dzhangulaskkvi David showed antiquity. The wife of Artem Grishkin and his granddaughter are painted with watercolor paints by artists Karpova Nastya and Radkina Nastya, they have a lot of emotions, responsiveness. And all together the drawings form a triptych. It seems to us very important to know the history of our native land, the Khanty people, which is an example of the Finno-Ugric group. That in turn became part of the European cultural heritage.
