Las Ermitas de Córdoba se sitúan en la ladera sur de la sierra y a unos 14 kilómetros de la
capital, junto a la antigua carretera de las Ermitas, en el Monte de la Cárcel o de la Víbora. Se trata de un recinto protegido por una cerca de piedra, que incluye en su interior un conjunto de edificios y espacios libres. La delimitación del bien coincide con el recinto rodeado por la cerca y conocido como Desierto de Nuestra Señora de Belén. Las Ermitas se caracterizan por su fuerte relación con el paisaje. Desde el bien se tienen unas vistas panorámicas del territorio hasta los extremos oriental, meridional y occidental de la provincia de Córdoba y provincias limítrofes. Por otro lado, el conjunto de las Ermitas se puede observar desde muchos lugares de un amplio entorno, más aún por la noche con el protagonismo que adquiere la iluminación artificial, que produce un efecto de levitación sobre las estribaciones de Sierra Morena. Se ha realizado un estudio de visibilidad que analiza las relaciones visuales entre las Ermitas y el territorio adyacente. Los inmuebles más relevantes que forman parte del bien, además de la cerca, son: la portería, el cementerio, la iglesia, el convento, las 13 ermitas que han llegado hasta nuestros días, el monumento al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y el mirador. Destacable también es el monumento al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y el mirador que se sitúan al final de un camino que parte de la portería.

The hermitages of Córdoba are located on the southern slope of the mountain range and about 14 kilometers from the capital, next to the old road to the Hermitages, on the Monte de la Cárcel or de la Víbora.
