The 21st century has changed the perception of time by humanity. The war has changed the perception of values and crystallized the most important things for us - freedom and dignity. Human memory is a strange thing - ordinary and mundane things often pass by our attention unnoticed, but as it turns out later, they are the components of happiness that everyone wants to get closer to. Stones... How important is a stone to you? It's a strange question, isn't it? As it turned out for us, Ukrainians, every stone of our land is important, and we will not give any of them to those who came to our land in war. The Zaporizhzhia region is now partially occupied by the invaders, including the Stone Tomb National Reserve. This monument has been on the UNESCO waiting list since 2006, and it is very important for us to publicize this fact, because it may disappear before humanity learns and realizes that Stonehenge has a serious tourist competitor. Currently, the reserve is mined by the occupiers and we are really worried that they can either simply destroy this monument or make it impossible to access it for decades. If the stones could talk, they would tell us everything, and we would know what our ancestors buried and when, what rituals they performed there, and why this place is compared to sacred places in the world. But we have only just begun to do this. There are more questions than facts for a thorough answer. If stones could talk, we would not be afraid of mines and would not ask for help, because we would have all the clues.... But stones can talk, and tell the world about ancient civilizations and writings, and we will be the ones to tell this story to future generations.

History and the past work for the future only when, in the process of dialogue, both sides come to a common solution. A joint decision gives us a sense of belonging to a community that understands us, shares our values and is capable of mutual support and mutual development. OUR team represents the Zaporizskiy Sichoviy Collegium. This school was established in 1991 under the patronage of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. This is a boarding school for talented children from the countryside of the Zaporizhzhia region. Currently, the Zaporizhzhia region is partially occupied by the invaders, and the city of Zaporizhzhia itself is 40 km from the largest nuclear power plant in Europe (the city of Enernodar) and 30 km from the zone of active hostilities. More than once or twice, we witnessed how the beautiful buildings of the central avenue of our city (by the way, the longest in Europe) turned into ruins. How a chasm was created on the site of a high-rise building. With our hands, pebble by pebble, we helped the rescue services to clear the rubble of what was once a happy human life, but turned into tombstones. We decided to call our story "If stones could talk..." because if it were true, we would decipher many mysteries of history in a matter of minutes, operating with true facts. In our region there is one interesting natural monument, which is a kind of competitor of Stonehenge, which the whole world knows about. And nobody knows about our Stone Tomb, although it has been on the UNESCO waiting list since 2006. It is a place of power that has been compared to the world's most famous landmarks. The ancient writings, or petroglyphs, that were found there suggest that we still have a lot of work to do to explore the secrets that ancient civilizations have left us. This sacred place is in the middle of the steppe, can you imagine a mountain massif in the middle of the steppe? Yes, it is very strange and interesting for specialists in various natural sciences from biologists to astrologers. The stone preserves the remains of ancient civilizations and even gives us a clue that the real Sarmatian Sea was once in this very place. Now this territory is temporarily occupied by invaders. Due to the peculiarities of the natural relief, this place is used by the invaders as a fortification. We suspect that much has already been destroyed and destroyed by the occupiers. Our greatest fear is that even after liberation, we will be awaited by numerous unpleasant mortality "surprises" in the form of mines and stretch marks, which will bring death to the civilian population, and what is most terrible - to children. Earlier, in peacetime, this place attracted thousands of excursions every year, millions of schoolchildren came to this unique place. It was here that they received a number of obvious evidences that testified to the uniqueness of Ukrainian culture and a number of diplomatic connections with the entire civilized world. However, we now understand that this unique place may be destroyed and forgotten. Together with our UNESCO school partners from the business academy in Ostrava (Czech Republic), we meet every week and discuss what our cultures have in common, which sights are important to us and why we should talk about it, rather shout it to the whole world . We have planned our actions and together we want to create a series of cartoons about the Stone Tomb to popularize this monument, perhaps draw the attention of the world community to this object and perhaps speed up its acceptance into the main list of UNESCO heritage. Stones can talk. And we will be that voice.

European Dimension

In 1996, UNESCO outlined 4 fundamental principles of education: the ability to be, the ability to do, the ability to know, the ability to live together. This story is a great example of how a team of students from a front-line town finds a new foothold for themselves, while the familiar world around them is collapsing. Cooperation with a European school for the purpose of not only studying, but also promoting common European values and keeping faith that the future exists. A future in which common values and guidelines form the core of communication
