Join archaeologist David McIlreavy on a walking tour introcudcing the history and archaeology of Newmarket Square, Dublin. The tour will include a tour of the recently completed NIDO Student Accommodation building which incorporates elements of the former Watkins Brewery site partially excavated in 2022. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into some of Dublins post medieval and industrial heritage. David McIlreavy is a Licence Eligible Archaeologist currently working for IAC Archaeology. This tour is a collaboration between IAC Archaeology, Dublin City Council and the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland. Meet David at St. Luke's Church Newmarket (now called Thomas Burgh House) at 2pm. This tour will take approximately 1 hour. Please make sure you are wearing comfortable footwear and weather appropriate clothes for your tour.
