Located on the Mall in Castlebar, Christchurch is one of the town’s oldest and most important historic buildings. Built in 1739, it was damaged during the rebellion of 1798 and underwent renovations between 1800 and 1828. Inside, visitors can explore the history of the town from 1590 to 1914 through a wonderful array of commemorative plaques and memorials.

The church will be open to visitors for Heritage Week 2024 on Friday 23rd August from 11am to 1pm.
