Dee O’Shea will show us how to take a kick sample in a shallow stream. All participants can then examine whatever is kicked up in a white tray. The Citizen Science Stream Index (CSSI) will then be used to determine the grade of the stream.
There will then be an opportunity to move on to a second stream to repeat the process and compare the results.
This will be a good opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the land where we live and learn from Dee more about the importance of clean water.
