An illustrated public lecture in Ionad an Bhlascaoid - the Blasket Centre. It focuses on the dramatic events surrounding the the infamous Massacre at Dún an Óir in 1580, which involved the Pope, the King of Spain, Sir Water Raleigh and other famous figures of the time. Dún an Óir is a promontory fort and historic site on Smerwick Harbour on the northwestern edge of the Dingle Peninsula.

Leading local historian Dr. Conor has made a special study of this significant historical event and will shed a compelling and fascinating light on the detail of the story.
