Entry to Medieval Ferns Experience
Visit the Medieval Ferns Experience on Wednesday, August 21st between 11am and 4pm. Through a variety of media including audio visual and virtual reality we tell the story of Ferns in the medieval period. Ferns, the Ancient Capital of Leinster has a fascinating story to tell – from the 6th century when St. Aidan founded a monastic settlement, through the 12th when the Gaelic Kings of Leinster ruled from Ferns and finishing in the 13th century with the arrival of the Normans who came to help the notorious Gaelic King, Diarmait MacMurrough regain his Kingdom. This is an engaging, interactive experience - make sure you take the Inauguration Stone Challenge - if you succeed, you'll be deemed fit to be a king! Pre booking is required - please email: medievalfernsexperience@fernsvillage.ie
