"Explore Carrick-on-Suir," a new tourism and community initiative, will launch on 17th August 2024 during National Heritage Week. This initiative aims to enhance tourism by highlighting the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and strong community spirit of Carrick-on-Suir and its hinterlands. Geographically located at the heart of where three counties meet, Carrick-on-Suir is uniquely positioned to serve as a central hub within the region. This strategic location makes it easier for visitors to appreciate and embrace the benefits of its centrality in the three counties.

The community day coincides with National Heritage Week's theme, "Connections, Routes, and Networks," encouraging participants to explore the various links between people and communities through physical, cultural, and digital connections. This theme underscores the historical significance of routes that have connected societies and communities, emphasising the importance of cultural connections through sports, hobbies, family ties, and traditions.

Throughout the day, visitors can expect a variety of engaging activities and events that highlight the unique aspects of Carrick-on-Suir. These include guided walks, exciting competitions, exhibitions, community engagement open days, sports events, and cultural performances. There's something for everyone, from family picnics and bike hires to interactive historical tours and a unique human Carrick knot formation. Join us for a day of fun, learning, and community spirit.
