Take a Local Link to the Past for National Heritage Week.
Transport For Ireland Local Link Services have multiple routes connecting Sligo Town to the wider area. Both the 563 Sligo–Dromahair and 566 Sligo–Dowra operate multiple times a day throughout the week as part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan - a major national transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority, with the aim of increasing connectivity and a sustainable method of travel, particularly for people living outside major cities and towns.
As the theme for Heritage Week is based on Connections, Routes and Networks; the OPW want to incentivise people to use this sustainable mode of travel from Sligo to Leitrim and Leitrim to Sligo. Visitors who present their Local Link bus ticket from Monday August 19th to Friday August 23rd will get free entry into Parke’s Castle, Co. Leitrim.
