Methodist Heritage in Carlow town
Aperçu
The Methodist church on the Athy Road was opened in 1898; however there were two previous places of worship in the town which were used by the Methodists. In this talk, you will learn about the history, the heritage, the people and the places who were influenced by John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement. John Wesley visited Carlow town on six occasions between 1765 and 1789. How did he get here and what route did he take? Where did he preach and how was he received? Also do you know the Methodist connection with the Deighton Hall and the Assembly Rooms on Dublin Street. Join us on 22 August to find out more.
