The village of Castelnau-de-guers overlooks the Hérault valley, bordered to the south by the Via Domitian and to the east by the fishmonger’s path. Fief of the barons De Guers, their footprint was so strong that from the fourteenth century, they bequeathed their name to the village of Castelnau, which entered history as Castelnau-de-guers. Nestled at the foot of the castle, the village was protected by an enclosure of which there are still some vestiges: the Porte Sainte Anne, the Porte Minerve, the clock tower surmounted by a bell of 1609\\. The castle of Castelnau-de-guers is an old feudal castle, the main residence of the Barons de Guers. The church of Saint-Sulpice was built in the 14th and 15th centuries by Benedictine monks.
