In the heart of the battlefields of the Somme, the Historial of the Great War presents, in its two museums in Péronne and Thiepval, the first world war in all its magnitude. Museum of Comparative History, internationally renowned, the Historial of the Great War in Péronne crosses the German, French and British visions of the conflict, through an exceptional collection of 70,000 civil and military objects, works of art and original documents. Unique in the public collections, the fifty engravings of Otto Dix’s Der Krieg series testify to the sufferings and horrors of this war. A large temporary annual exhibition completes the tour. Near the Franco-British Memorial, in the heart of the sites of the Battle of the Somme, the Historial also welcomes visitors to its museum in Thiepval since June 2016\\.
