Aperçu

The architectural interest of the church Saint-Étienne listed(classified) in conformance with(for) Historic monuments is not any more to show. Etudiée in university, visited by numerous experts for decades, it is the perfect witness(baton) of pre-Romance period in the east of France. The first period of construction goes back up(raises) at the beginning of the XIth century to end probably by 1054, date of its consecration by the bishop of Langres. If the church is recognised for its architecture, the quality of its furniture would deserve an attention at least equivalent because of the presence of an important sculptor of the Middle Ages in the different chapels of the church. A workshop(studio) of sculpture denominated by Vignory-Joinville »by the historians worked there at the end of the XIVth century and at the beginning of the XVth century.
