The Musée-Mine Départemental is the latest testimony on the site of coal mining in the Tarn, providing both technical and social insights into eight centuries of coal history. The headframe and the cage descent allow the discovery of 350 meters of reconstructed galleries where machines and tools are presented in situation in order to better understand the work of the miner and his living conditions. The permanent exhibition evokes the economic and social history that forged the identity of this territory strongly marked by the figure of Jean Jaurès. Plunge into the heart of the history of coal in the Tarn, bring yourself a helmet and you will be underage for an hour.
