Built in the 15th century, it was the home of great names of Saumur. In ruins, it was bought in 1979 by the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir and the Tour de France which restored it. It is now a place of training in companionship, a practice registered since 2010 with the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
