The site of the old(former) concentration camp of Vernet of the Ariège offers 4 particular(special) places: • the cemetery with its environmental park and its 5 panels(signs) of history(story) (free access); • both pillars of the entrance(entry) of the camp with the catchment basin (free access); • the Space Station-car (free access) with, since June 30th, 2018, a banner which presents the index cards(forms) of 178 foreigners who were deported on July 25th, 1940\\. It is about the first convoy of deportation of France left of the concentration camp of Vernet of the Ariège; • the museum with its model, its numerous documents, drawings, objects, photographies. The visit of these places of history(story) and of report(memory) allows to include what was a concentration camp in France: of their creation in 1938 by the circular of Minister of the Interior of the IIIth French Republic up to their closure(lock), on June 30th, 1944 for the concentration camp of Vernet of the Ariège. The Friendly creating on December 1st, 1944 obtained the registration(inscription) of 3 vestiges of the concentration camp (cemetery, station and entrance(entry)) in the additional inventory of Historic monuments and Sites on December 1st, 2015\\. The Regional committee for Heritage and for Sites more decided there to register «the city(estate) of the married guards» as well as the surface of the concentration camp. Happy initiative when we see that an industrial pigsty could be instead installed(settled) of the old(former) concentration camp of Septfonds in the Tarn-et-Garonne.
