The CACN - Centre d'Art Contemporain de Nîmes was founded by Bertrand Riou and inaugurated in 2017 in an old ironworks in the Montcalm-République district, in the city center of Nîmes. After a period of roaming during the year 2020, the activities of the art center are permanently installed in 2021 in a municipal building located in the Pissevin-Valdegour/ 4 Place Roger Bastide in Nîmes. ​The CACN - Centre d'Art Contemporain de Nîmes aims to support the creation, promotion of artists and the dissemination of contemporary art, whether at the local, regional, national or international level. The projects are developed in the form of exhibitions, publications, artistic events (performances, projections, conferences, etc.) and collaborative projects via residencies of artists and curators. The CACN also publishes in parallel a free magazine around the research of French and foreign curators. It is called Cooperative Curatorial. Adresse : 4 Place Roger Bastide 30900 Nîmes. Accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Voiture : parking gratuit en face du CACN. Tram bus : T2 Gare Feuchères > CHU Carémeau - Arrêt Trait d'Union (un passage toutes les 10 minutes environ en semaine). Bus : ligne 3 et ligne 8 Galilée - Pont de Justice - Arrêt "Trait d'union" ou ligne 82 Mas de Lauze - Trait d'Union. Vélo : une piste cyclable suit le tracé de la ligne T2 (15 minutes de vélo à partir de la gare Nîmes-Centre). À pied : 40 minutes à pied depuis la gare de Nîmes-Centre / 30 minutes depuis les Jardins de la Fontaine. À proximité : l'Accueil municipal Pissevin, la Maison de Projets et la Médiathèque Marc Bernard.
