Guided tour: in the footsteps of the Norman knights who left for Sicily
Located in the former presbytery of the city of Hauteville-La-Guichard, the Tancrède Museum presents an exhibition on the epic of the Norman kings who set out to conquer southern Italy to found a powerful kingdom. In fact, in 1036, the sons of a modest lord, Tancredi of Hauteville, went to Italy. The exhibition traces the history of these kings and their kingdom at the origin of one of the most brilliant civilization of the Middle Ages as well as the aspects of Norman art in Sicily. To immerse themselves even more in the atmosphere of the Norman conquests, visitors will be able to stroll in a garden of medieval inspiration specially reconstituted.
