Aperçu

True island of biodiversity, the Regional Nature Reserve of the Marais des Trous de Leu takes place at the gates of the Reims agglomeration. Surrounded by the city, the 33 hectares of the reserve, located between the canal and the Vesle, are part of the territories of the municipalities of Reims and Taissy. With its relatively well preserved natural environments, the Marais des Trous de Leu RNR is home to a wide variety of habitats. Generally, woodlands are the majority and are distributed according to humidity: Chênaie-Charmaie in the least humid areas and Aulnaie or Saulaie for the wettest areas. There are also open wetlands characterized by different reed bed habitats. To a lesser extent, the Reserve is home to a mowing meadow, as well as two bodies of standing water: a pond and a pond.
