Guided tours «Four centuries of history»
This mansion, which was the house of Joë Bousquet (1897-1950), shelters the room(chamber) of this poet audois and a permanent exhibition redrawing his life and the influence(radiation) of its work. Wounded soldier in 1918, it lost the use(custom) of its legs and lived(remained) confined to bed the rest of his life in its famous room(chamber) of 53, street from Verdun to Carcassonne, stayed in the state and registered in conformance with(for) Historic monuments since 1990\\. He welcomed the biggest(greatest) painters and writers there of his century. The Centre Joë Bousquet and its Time(Weather) livens up(leads) this exhibition(exposure) and proposes temporary exhibitions(exposures) devoted to relations between writing and artistic creation. Having called House of Reports since 1988, date of its acquisition by the Department of the Aude, buildings(ships) on court(yard) go back up(raise) to the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, the facade looking onto the street is attributed(awarded) to the XVIIIth century. On the first floor, the inside shelters remarkable ceilings painted French-style accompanied with a wall decoration(set) of the XVIth and XVIIth centuries. These elements are registered in conformance with(for) Historic monuments since 1992. The House of Reports also accommodates the Audois de Recherche group and of Ethnographic Animation (ethnopôle GARAE), the Documentation Centre of which is open to the public, as well as the Association of studies of the Catharism / René Nelli. Temporary exhibitions(exposures), public readings, conferences are regularly kept in this place.
